KIRKWOOD'S MLK DAY OF SERVICE PROJECTS MONDAY 1/15

Postby Earl Williamson RN » Jan 8th, 2018, 2:07 pm

Join us this coming Monday 1/15 at 9 am as we commemorate Dr King's lifelong practice of service to the community with two KNO sponsored projects open to individuals, families, and especially kids. As always all tools, gloves, and supplies are provided so we need only you to complete the picture.

1. Gilliam Park (1685 Wade Avenue NE) 2nd Annual Family Service Day
This was great fun last Year! Families in particular are invited to join in this clean up and care day for historic Gilliam Park. While adults work mulching flowering trees and bushes kids will simultaneously roam in supervised playful groups picking up fall wood and litter throughout the park and PATH. Kids in particular enjoyed being included and learn that service is not onerous. No sign up, just show up and join in celebrating community.

2. Clay Cemetery (31 Clifton St ) Annual Hands on Atlanta MLK Day Clean Up
We will be raking fall leaves and picking up fall wood. A great way of learning about and supporting Kirkwood's oldest historical site (c. 1824). This project is less kid oriented so we prefer an age minimum of 10 y/o.

You can simply show up and join in or sign up through our Clay Cemetery project partners Hands on Atlanta at:
